Welcome Back to SFSU!
We’re excited that you’re returning to San Francisco State University. Whether you took time away for personal, academic or professional reasons, our team is here to support your transition back to campus and help you move forward with confidence.
Below you’ll find the key steps, resources and support services designed specifically for readmitted students.
Accept your admission offer
The first step after being readmitted is to accept your admission offer:
- Log into gateway.sfsu.edu. Under the LaunchPad, click on the Student Center button.
- Once in your Student Center, go to the Admissions section and under the My Applications box, click Accept or Decline and ACCEPT YOUR OFFER!
- When prompted, pay the non-refundable $100 deposit, which is applied to your first-semester tuition (unless eligible for an automatic waiver). Select the type of payment and complete the payment process. Make sure you don’t have pop-ups blocked on your browser, or you won’t be able to complete payment.
- Your Student Center will automatically update with your acceptance status.
Check your Student Center
Visit your Student Center to check for any holds, to-dos, and to view your registration appointment date.
Two‑Factor Authentication (2FA)
You will also receive instructions for setting up two-factor authentication which will be required to access SFSU information resources and helps protect your student account.
Many of our returning students have already attended New Student Orientation. For this reason, we do not require you to attend again. As a readmitted student, you are encouraged to talk to advisors and review advising resources to start strong as you re-enter SFSU. Set-up an appointment with an advisor in the Undergraduate Advising Center by emailing or calling the center.
Once you have a plan for which courses to take and do not have any pending holds or to dos, then you will be prepared to enroll on your enrollment date/time. Simply open the Student Center, under the Academics header and click the Enroll link. You can find more details on the how to enroll page.
