Transfer Success Pathway

Discover your path to San Francisco State University from a California Community College

The Transfer Success Pathway Program (TSP) at SF State offers guaranteed admission for California community college students who meet specific requirements.

The Transfer Success Pathway Program provides a dual admission opportunity for eligible first-time, first-year students enrolling in California Community Colleges who commit to transferring to a California State University (CSU) within three years.

The program is designed to increase access to SF State for students who have faced academic, financial, or personal hardships that previously prevented them from attending.

You are eligible to participate in a Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) Agreement if you:

  • Graduated high school this year (or a prior year) and did not yet earn any college credit after high school graduation

AND

  • Were not CSU eligible at the time of high school graduation; OR
  • Did not attend a CSU due to personal or financial reasons; OR
  • Were a CSU Redirect first year student who opted not to enroll at a CSU campus

There are many benefits that come with the TSP program!

  • Receive personal guidance and support from SF State representatives
  • Guaranteed admissions to SF State and degree program of choice after completion of transfer requirements
  • Access to CSU Transfer Planner Portal to map out your coursework and track your progress
  • Graduating with a CSU degree!

To join the program, students will be able to enroll between August 1 and September 30. Students will submit their application through the Transfer Planner: https://csutransfer.myliaison.com/.

As part of the agreement, students must complete either an Associate Degree for Transfer or an established course of transfer at a California community college.

Transfer Success Pathway is guided by the Governor’s Council for Post-Secondary Education Recovery with Equity report and the Postsecondary Education Trailer Bill (AB 132) to help improve students’ transfer experience while addressing potential equity issues resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, academic preparation obstacles and other challenges facing high school students.
