and our available housing options. Freshmen can tour

Academic Meet-Ups

Now’s your chance to get to know SF State’s six academic colleges and their many majors, minors and certificate programs. Each college is led by a dean and has its own specific academic focus, facilities, award-winning faculty, and student clubs and organizations. Stop by and visit your future college to learn more about it and connect with faculty and staff.

Representatives from the colleges will also be available at the SF State Academic Showcase on the Quad from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for additional questions and assistance.

Each college will host its own set of activities during the Academic Meet-up time from 1:15 p.m. - 2 p.m. 

Are you an Undeclared major or thinking of changing your major? Now is a great time to explore all of our academic offerings. Feel free to visit any College Meet-up Activity during the event.

The Lam Family College of Business's innovation hub is a dynamic space that encourages our students to dream big! The space offers students access to 3D printers, engravers, and other tools that help aspiring entrepreneurs bring their ideas into into reality! Our Innovation Hub open house will introduce guests to the Lam Family College of Business's resources like Career Services, Innovation, and more!

Are you ready to make a difference as a teacher?  Join us at the Aspiring Teacher Meet Up. Come learn about the Graduate College of Education’s undergraduate teacher preparation pathways for students majoring in Liberal Studies (LS) or Child and Adolescent Development (CAD) to become a teacher. Here you will learn how students can graduate with both a B.A. and a Multiple Subject Credential (MSC) for teachers and learn about our other credential programs.

Take a tour of the clinic and labs for speech, language and hearing sciences. Learn more about pathways to become a speech-language pathologist or audiologist.

Come by the College of Ethnic Studies and meet and hear from faculty and students about our classes, programs, and majors/minors. Established in Fall 1969, the College of Ethnic Studies grew from the 1968 Black Student Union/Third World Liberation Front Student Strike through the a coalition of faculty-scholars, student-activists and community members. The college consists of five departments: Asian American Studies, Africana Studies, Latina/Latino Studies, American Indian Studies and Race and Resistance Studies.

Learn about the Metro College Success Program! Get familiar with our spaces, meet some faculty and other Metro students and learn what our classes are like. 
Location: HSS Building, Rooms 301 and 303

Visit the College of Health & Social Science for tours of classrooms and labs within the Department Family, Interiors, Nutrition & Apparel (FINA). FINA will offer tours of its Betcher Apparel Construction Lab, the Interior Design & Architecture Drafting and Lighting Lab, and the Miele Cooking Lab.
Location: Meet in front of Burk Hall, facing the Chavez Student Union Building.

The Department of Kinesiology will offer a tour of the Kinesiology (Exercise Physiology) Labs

The Performing Arts at SF State:

Learn about the opportunities to create and perform at SF State whether you're majoring in the arts or not. The meetup will include a tour of the Theatre & Dance facilities and music labs.

Learn about Journalism, Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts, and Cinema. Tour lab facilities and stop by the Coppola Theatre to see student short films.

The Humanities and Social Sciences at SF State:

Learn about the humanities in the age of AI. Experience a poetry slam, check out comics created by students, explore how video games affected contemporary cultures and values, and more!

Join the College of Science & Engineering (CoSE) for lab tours and demonstrations.

Department of Biology tour: Come see our teaching labs (anatomy, animal diversity, microbiology), our seawater room and one of our research labs. See how students participate in hands-on research in the biological sciences.
